Tangle Teezer Compact Styler Review | Is Tangle Teezer Worth The Hype?!

Tangle Teezer Compact Styler review

I’m sure most of you have already heard of the Tangle Teezer range of hair brushes, there is so much hype surrounding them and I know lots of people swear by them for brushing through knotted hair. The original Tangle Teezer was developed in 2003 by the hair dresser Shaun Pulfrey. He took his idea to Dragon’s Den and although he didn’t get an investment from the Dragons, the awareness from the show led to him making lots of sales and they were first stocked in Boots in 2008. Since then, the Tangle Teezer has continued to grow and there are now many different ranges of brushes available. These include brushes suitable for thick curly hair, brushes specially to be used in the shower, brushes for blow drying, brushes for kids, a compact styler for your handbag and many more!

I have been using my new Tangle Teezer Compact Styler* every day since I got it a few weeks ago and I can’t imagine brushing my hair without it now – I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get my hands on one!

 What It Does

The Compact Styler is designed to detangle hair and provide the perfect finishing touch. It uses a two-tiered teeth system technology to smooth, shine and define the hair. The long teeth detangle and the short teeth smooth the hair cuticle for healthier looking and glossy hair. The Compact Styler is similar to the original brush, but it is smaller and comes with a protective cover making it the perfect on the go brush to keep in your handbag.

My Thoughts

I was so impressed when I first brushed my hair with this, I have blonde hair which can get very tangled and I also have permanent hair extensions which can be a nightmare to brush. The Tangle Teezer definitely lives up to its detangling claims. It brushes easily through my hair and all tangled bits disappear without much effort, there is no need to pull or tug at the hair to untangle it. It definitely requires a lot less effort than a normal hair brush which is great!

The brush can be used on wet or dry hair and I use it for both, it works very well on wet hair as well as dry. Apparently you can also use it to backcomb the hair although I haven’t tried using it for this.

The Compact Styler is available in lots of different colours and designs, I chose the Hello Kitty pink style which is so cute! It really is the perfect handbag brush, I am considering purchasing one of the original brushes as well now so that I can actually keep my compact styler in my handbag - it has been living on my dressing table at the moment because I am loving using it on wet hair after washing.

As you can probably tell, I LOVE my Tangle Teezer! I honestly can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get one. I can confirm in my opinion, they are definitely worth the hype. I really recommend it to those of you who struggle with knots and tangles in your hair, also if you have hair extensions these are perfect for those and not damaging at all.

The Compact Styler brushes retail at either £12.50 or £13.50 depending on which design you choose – I think this is a very reasonable price considering this brush will likely last a long time. You can have a look at the full ranges of brushes on the Tangle Teezer website.
