Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion Review

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion Review

Today I want to talk to you about my current favourite eye duo – Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara* and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion*. I’m a massive fan of the bold, black eye look so I knew as soon as I read the description of these two that I would most likely love them! I have been using them almost every day for about a month now and I’ve been so excited to share my thoughts.

Let’s start with the mascara. When I first looked at the brush I was surprised that it was quite large and looked like the application could be quite messy. Thankfully I didn’t find it difficult to use or messy, it allows you to cover your lashes from root to tip and picks up the lashes near the edges and corner easily too.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

The formula of this mascara is what I think really makes it special and is my favourite thing about it. When I applied it for the first time I noticed how creamy it was – it glides onto the lashes so easily and with no clumps. As it’s so creamy it’s quite wet when you first apply it, so it’s important to make sure you let it dry completely after applying otherwise it will smudge. Also if you are applying more than one coat of this mascara definitely let it dry before the second coat.

After just one coat you are left with really pigmented black lashes which is really impressive. After two coats my lashes were really lengthened and volumised. Urban Decay claims it will give you ‘bigger, blacker, badder lashes’ and it definitely does. It’s absolutely perfect for me as I love very black, bold eye lashes – however if you prefer a more subtle look you can probably tell by now this might not be the one for you.

The wear of the mascara is great, it stays on all day and I haven’t noticed any smudging or flaking at all when I wear it (It’s on me from around 7am – 9pm usually so this is pretty impressive). This is something which I usually notice with more expensive mascaras and it definitely makes it worth its price of £17.50.

The only downside of this mascara is that it is tough to remove, you definitely need a good makeup remover and I did notice it took longer to get the mascara completely off. Though this doesn’t really bother me too much as it is to be expected with mascaras that are very pigmented and black.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion Review
Next up is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade Perversion. These eye pencils come in a range of shades, all of which look amazing but I was so glad to get Perversion as it is the absolute perfect shade for me! The shade is an extremely dark, matte black, probably the darkest black eye liner I’ve ever used.

The pencil is really creamy and smooth and it glides on effortlessly onto the upper and lower lash lines. It is so pigmented and even completely covers the water line in a dark black colour – this is often where eye liners fail me so I was really impressed with this. The fact that it’s creamy also means it is really easy to blend it before it sets.

I wear black eyeliner most days and I have quite long days usually so it’s really important to me that eye liner is long lasting. Perversion lasts well throughout the whole day, it did smudge a bit and fade by the end of the day on my water line but this is to be expected in that area.

Perversion is an eye liner which you have to sharpen - I really like ones like this as it allows you to get a really defined line. The only slight downside about this liner is that like the mascara, it is quite difficult to remove and you definitely need a good makeup remover.

I absolutely love the Perversion mascara and Perversion eye liner, I would really recommend these to anyone that loves a bold, black eye look.
