The Perfect Festive Lip | MAC Brick Lip Liner & Viva Glam I Lipstick Review

MAC Brick Liner & Viva Glam I Lipstick Review

If you know me you will know already that I am absolutely obsessed with MAC lip products. Whilst there are many other brands I love I think MAC will always be my favourite. The most recent editions to join my MAC collection is this lip liner in ‘Brick’ and the ‘Viva Glam I’ lipstick. Brick has been on my wishlist for a while and I decided to purchase it a few weeks ago in time for the festive season. I also purchased a lipstick to go with it and the Viva Glam I matches perfectly. There is nothing I love more than a red lip during the Autumn/Winter months, especially at Christmas and this combination is just gorgeous.

10 Ways To Annoy A Londoner

10 Ways To Annoy A Londoner
Source

I have been living in London for two years now (times flies!) and while to some of you that may not be long enough to call myself a Londoner, I feel pretty accustomed to London life now. Awhile ago I wrote a post about 20 things I have learnt since I moved to London and I had lovely comments about this post, so I hope people enjoyed reading it! I want to write more posts about London as I just love London so much and have so many things to talk about.

Although I do absolutely love London, after being here for a couple of years I have definitely noticed some rather annoying things that can happen to us Londoners. Here are 10 ways to annoy a Londoner…..

Tangle Teezer Compact Styler Review | Is Tangle Teezer Worth The Hype?!

Tangle Teezer Compact Styler review

I’m sure most of you have already heard of the Tangle Teezer range of hair brushes, there is so much hype surrounding them and I know lots of people swear by them for brushing through knotted hair. The original Tangle Teezer was developed in 2003 by the hair dresser Shaun Pulfrey. He took his idea to Dragon’s Den and although he didn’t get an investment from the Dragons, the awareness from the show led to him making lots of sales and they were first stocked in Boots in 2008. Since then, the Tangle Teezer has continued to grow and there are now many different ranges of brushes available. These include brushes suitable for thick curly hair, brushes specially to be used in the shower, brushes for blow drying, brushes for kids, a compact styler for your handbag and many more!

I have been using my new Tangle Teezer Compact Styler* every day since I got it a few weeks ago and I can’t imagine brushing my hair without it now – I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get my hands on one!

Dinner & Cocktails at Gem LDN Soho

Dinner & Cocktails at Gem LDN Soho

One of the things I love the most about living in London is the huge choice of unique food and drink places there are to choose from. I always make the mistake of going to the usual chains but I have really been trying to get out of this habit by being more adventurous and trying out new places. I was recently invited to Gem Bar in Soho to see their new venue so I took a little trip down there after work one evening with my boyfriend - we had such a lovely evening trying some of the cocktails and food from their menu.

Gerard Cosmetics Lip Products | Fire Engine and Immortal Review

Gerard Cosmetics is a brand I have wanted to try for so long and recently I finally got round to making a purchase from Beauty Bay. The hydro matte liquid lipsticks have amazing reviews so I had to try one of these. I decided to go for the hydro matte in shade ‘Immortal’ and also bought one of their lipsticks in the shade ‘Fire Engine’ as this looked like such a beautiful shade and I thought they would go well together. I love red lips during the winter months and these two are just perfect.

Hair Care Tips For Blonde Hair

Hair Care Tips For Blonde Hair
Although I do have naturally blonde hair, it is a dark blonde and I have always had the desire to be as light blonde as possible. To do this I get bleach highlights about every 8-12 weeks and have done for probably around 8 years now.

Over the years I have picked up lots of dos and don’ts when it comes to looking after blonde hair. All blonde hair requires lots of looking after as it is naturally finer than darker hair types, especially if you are adding colour to it. I hope these tips help some of you blondies out there!

Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion Review

Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion Review

If you have read any of my skincare posts before you will know I have combination skin and that I am always looking for new products to try that are designed for combination skin. I am not a fan of shine at all or a dewy finish, as matte as possible it what I always go for and I love products that help me achieve that perfect matte finish!

For the last few weeks I have been using the Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion* as part of my skincare routine and now it’s time to share my thoughts.

Salon Science Hair Care | Swiss Grape Range Review

Salon Science Hair Care Swiss Grape Range Review

Looking after my hair is extremely important to me, I get bleach highlights every 2-3 months to keep my hair light blonde, so it is essential I look after it to ensure it doesn’t get damaged, as I’m sure most of you know bleach isn’t exactly good for your hair.

I am very fussy with what products I use on my hair and always invest in good quality shampoo, conditioner and other hair products. After speaking to a few different hair dressers over the years and doing some research it is actually quite worrying what ingredients some of the cheaper hair care brands use, they can sometimes do more damage than good.

When I was introduced to the brand Salon Science I knew I wanted to try out some of their products as they sounded great. Salon Science products contain powerful active ingredients and a high  concentration of plant stem cell extracts with the aim being to replenish and revive hair from the inside out.

Hotel Astoria Playa | Alcudia, Mallorca

Hotel Astoria Playa, Alcudia, Mallorca

In September my boyfriend and I spent two weeks in Mallorca staying in the Astoria Playa Hotel in Alcudia. When we decided to go to Mallorca we took awhile trying to choose what part of the island to stay, there are so many gorgeous areas in Mallorca it is a hard decision! We finally decided on Alcudia in the north of the island as the beach in Alcudia is one of the best on the island and the area looked lovely. After searching for a hotel in Alcudia and coming across Astoria Playa it was a pretty easy decision to stay there. It is voted the number one hotel in Alcudia on TripAdvisor and all of the reviews are incredible. After looking at the pictures it looked gorgeous and we couldn't wait to get there and see it in person. It is an adults hotel as well which definitely made me want to stay there even more - no screaming children everywhere (not that I don't like kids but we wanted it to be super relaxing!).

We had such a good experience staying in this hotel, I knew I wanted to share it on my blog when I got back. It is a 4* hotel but I personally think a lot of aspects like the standard of food and staff service are 5* in my eyes.

An Introduction to BoroughBox

BoroughBox

One of the brands I met at the Big Blogger Expo a couple of months ago was BoroughBox. They stood out to me on the day as their stand was amazing, they had decorated it so beautifully, had lots yummy food samples to try out and were so friendly. At the event they were taking email addresses to potentially work with bloggers in the future and I put mine down as I knew I was interested in BoroughBox. A couple of weeks ago they kindly sent me a box full of some goodies to try out and I have been so excited to share these on my blog.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip | Review & Swatches

ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip | Review & Swatches

I have been desperate to get my hands on some of the Ultra Matte Lip liquid lipsticks from ColourPop for SO long. I have followed their social media and all the hype sounding them over the last year or so and it’s been so frustrating not to be able to try them out as they aren’t available to buy in the UK and they don’t have any shipping options to the UK on their website. That is until a few weeks ago when Fran mentioned she was doing a ColourPop order and asked if I’d like to get in on it, obviously I jumped at the chance! Fran used a shipping service and she explains how she did it in her post here if you want some more information. I didn’t know these services existed but now I do I would definitely consider doing this in the future as it seems quite a smooth process.

One of the reasons the ColourPop ultra matte lips have been talked about so much recently is because of their similarity to the Kylie Cosmetics lip kits.  I saw so many posts and articles saying they are made in the same factory with exactly the same ingredients, except they are a fraction of the price. I still don’t know whether all these rumours are true, but this article from Cosmopolitan has pretty much confirmed it for me. The ColourPop ultra matte lips retail at $6 dollars whereas the Kylie kits are $29 so it’s quite a big price difference.

So….Why do I love them so much? Keep reading!

Heaven Skincare Youthful Moisturiser Review

At the Big Blogger Expo a few weeks ago one of the products I was lucky enough to be given to try out was the Heaven Skincare Youthful Moisturiser. I really enjoyed meeting the ladies on the Heaven Skincare stand at the event, they were so friendly and enthusiastic about Heaven Skincare, and after explaining to me about this moisturiser I was so excited to try it out for myself. I have been using it morning and night as part of my skincare routine every day for around a month or so and I think now is the perfect time to share my thoughts.

Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks Review

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Review

A couple of months ago Urban Decay launched their new Vice Lipstick range – one of their biggest launches yet featuring 100 shades of lipstick in six different finishes. When I first heard about this launch I was ridiculously excited, I am a massive lipstick lover, I’m not going to admit how many I own!  Until now Urban Decay hasn’t been one of the brands I associated that much with lipsticks, I know they are hugely famous for the incredible Naked eye palettes but I don’t see much about their lip products. This has all changed now – the Vice range of lipsticks is a serious game changer and Urban Decay have definitely made their mark in the lipstick department. The face of the Vice lipstick launch is the amazing Ruby Rose, I love her and her style so much and she fits perfectly into Urban Decay’s brand.

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Review | Coconut Spritz and Blow & Go Genius Lotion

Lee Stafford Coco Loco Coconut Spritz and Blow & Go Genius Lotion

I love Lee Stafford and have tried a few of his products from the range for bleached blondes, my favourite being the Bleach Blonde Hot Shots (really recommend this to any blondes out there). When I was asked if I’d like to try out and review some of the products from the Coco Loco range I jumped at the chance. I actually can’t believe I haven’t got around to trying these sooner, when they were released I knew I wanted to get my hands on them. All the product in the Coco Loco range are made with coconut oil, which you will know (unless you have been hiding under a rock) is one of the best things you can put on your hair to look after it. Coconut is also one of my absolute favourite scents, so I knew I would most likely love this range.

The two products I have been trying out are the Coco Loco Coconut Spritz* and the Coco Loco Blow & Go Lotion*.

Copper Coast Natural Skincare Review

I am such a fan of trying out new brands that I haven't previously come across, so when I won this Copper Coast Natural Skincare gift set in the Big Blogger Expo raffle I was so happy and excited to try the products. Straight away I did some research to find out more about them and I loved what I read. Copper Coast is a skincare brand developed by Victoria Flanagan after she struggled to find products to treat her son's sensitive skin. Victoria studied a Diploma in Natural Skincare and designed all of these products herself, they are all made from 100% natural ingredients such as butters and oils.

L.A. Girl PRO Conceal HD Concealers Review

L.A. Girl PRO Conceal HD Concealer

After seeing the L.A. Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealers popping up a lot recently on Instagram, I just had to see what the hype was about. They seem to be a popular choice for contouring on lots of beauty accounts I follow, I love contouring so what better than a couple of new products to experiment with. The price of the concealers seems to vary depending on where you purchase them from, but the normal price is about £5. They are currently available to buy on Beauty Bay or on Amazon which is where I got them as they were slightly cheaper on there. There may be other places to buy them too but these are the ones I’ve come across.

Spectrum Collections | The Bomb Shell Launch Party

Spectrum Collections AW16 Launch Party

If you haven't already heard of Spectrum Collections, then first of all why not?! They are the makeup brushes everyone wants at the moment and they are popping up everywhere on social media. Their brushes are the most unique makeup brushes I have ever seen, they are so pretty (just have a look on their website and you'll see what I mean). They have been on my wish list for such a long time and I have been meaning to purchase some but just hadn't got around to it. So when I saw the invite to the launch party for their new collection pop up in my inbox you can imagine how excited I was!

The event was to launch their new AW16 range of brushes 'The Bombshell Collection'. It was held in Central London in the cutest pop up shop near Soho, it was such a great opportunity to meet the owners of Spectrum (who are the nicest girls ever), meet lots of other bloggers and get to be one of the lucky ones to see a preview of the brushes before they are launched in September.

My Current Trainer Wishlist

A few months ago I bought a pair of Nike roshe trainers and ever since I have become absolutely trainer obsessed. I used to only wear them to the gym and not everyday, but now I live in them! It is so much easier and more comfortable wearing trainers during the day, especially living in London as I do a lot of walking around. Recently I have been looking for a new pair to add to my collection so I thought I would put together a wish list to show you some of my current favourites.
What are your favourite trainers?

Rodial Glamoxy Snake Mask Review
Rodial Glamoxy Snake Mask Review
A couple of months ago I visited the Rodial sculpting bar in Harvey Nichols to have a facial and makeover using some of their products (it was absolutely amazing!) I fell in love with pretty much everything - in particular the Glamoxy snake mask. I only tried it out on my hand as we didn't have time to use it on my face, but I absolutely loved the look of it and they kindly gave me one of the snake masks to take home and try out properly.

Rodial describes the Glamoxy snake mask as "a jet black brightening mask with syn-ake dipeptide, french clay and liquorice extract. An innovative black peel-off formula that visibly improves the appearance of skin radiance and texture with dipeptides, inspired by the effect of the temple viper venom, to reduce the look of lines and wrinkles. French clay, enriched with minerals, deeply cleanses and purifies pores to remove excess oil, dirt and impurities".

Sounds amazing right?! Keep reading to find out.....

5 Benefits of Yoga

Yoga is something that has become a a big part of my life over the last few months and I have really started to notice some of the benefits there are of doing yoga regularly. I never thought I'd be someone who would enjoy yoga as I thought I'd find it way too boring and not my kind of thing - how wrong I was! I decide to try yoga last year as it was one of the methods recommended to me for coping with back pain that I sometimes get due to a spinal fusion a few years ago. Since my first yoga class I haven't looked back and I've been excited to share on my blog some of the benefits I have noticed of practicing yoga.

This was until a few weeks ago when I came across their tea tree toner water. I tried it out in the store and absolutely loved the smell of it and I’m a fan of tea tree products anyway so I thought it was definitely worth trying out.

MAC Lip Liners | Naked & Hip 'n' Happy

Recently I have become absolutely obsessed with lip liners. It wasn’t that long ago I got onto the lip liner hype and purchased my first MAC liner and since then I haven’t looked back. There are so many benefits to using lip liners underneath lipstick, I mention a few in my ‘Makeup Tips You Might Not know Already’ post. I could go on forever, I pretty much can’t go a day now without using a lip liner. Since I have started experimenting with liners I have decided MAC is definitely my favourite. MAC lip liners are so creamy, extremely pigmented and I think the price of £12.50 is actually quite reasonable considering how long they last.

This Works Sleep Plus Trouble Shooter & Hair Elixir

I was recently introduced to the online beauty store Bath & Unwind and sent a couple of products to try out from the This Works Sleep Plus range. When I read up on This Works I was so excited to find out what it was like as it sounded like my perfect brand. They use only 100% natural ingredients with no unnecessary chemicals or synthetic fragrances added. This is always really important to me when choosing a skin care brand as I have very sensitive skin, so I care a lot about products being kind to the skin.

The Sleep Plus range is designed to maximise your downtime by tackling beauty and sleep troubles at the same time. I sometimes struggle with sleeping and I know a lot of people do to, so products that help with sleep and skincare seems like the perfect combination!
