August Favourites

It makes me sad thinking that it is now officially the end of summer. I love summer and I don’t really feel like we have had much of one this year! I have high hopes that we might have some sun throughout September as we sometimes do but who knows… Anyway onto my August favourites. This was quite an easy one for me as there are so many things I have been loving this month which I can’t wait to share with you all.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Flat Contour Brush £22 – Ever since the Bold Metals collection was released I have been dying to try it, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to justify the expensive price tag of the brushes. After recently noticing they were on offer in Boots I just couldn’t resist buying the Flat Contour brush as I read some really good reviews about this one. I absolutely love the design of the brush, it is the most gorgeous shade of gold and I love the unique pointy end. The quality of the brush is amazing - it is so soft and I find it the perfect shape and size to contour my face. I use this brush almost every day now and I’m so glad I bought it. The brushes are still on offer in Boots at the moment with 25% off if you are interested!

Crown Brush Deluxe Crease Brush* £3.69 – I received this brush in my goody bag from the Big Blogger Conference. I was quite excited that it was a crease brush of all brushes as I actually have been looking for a new one. As soon as I used it I loved it! The shape is perfect, it is quite thin and long so it works perfectly for blending in the crease area. It is really soft as well which is always a big plus for me, I hate it when a brush feels rough on the eyelid. This is the first brush I have tried from Crown Brush and I’m really impressed. They are very reasonably priced as well - I definitely want to try more now!

Mac Lip Liner ‘Talking Points’ – £12.50 It’s only recently I have started using lip liners and I can’t believe what I’ve been missing. I used to struggle with them as I sometimes have dry lips and matte lipsticks tend to be quite long wearing anyway. I’m not sure what changed my mind but I decided to purchase a couple of MAC lip liners with some of the money I got for my birthday a few weeks ago and one of them was this gorgeous shade of pink called ‘Talking Points’. I absolutely love the bright pink colour and it goes with so many of my pink lipsticks. I have noticed how much it massively increases the wear time and it is amazing! I don’t really find it that drying either as long as you make sure your lips are moisturised.

Maybelline Eraser Eye – £7.99 I have been wanting to try this concealer for a while now after reading so many good reviews about it. I decided to purchase it a couple of weeks ago in Boots and I have been using it every day since. I went for the shade ‘light’ as I wanted to use it as highlighter and I absolutely love it. It is very brightening so it’s the perfect under eye concealer. I really like the applicator as well, I’ve never used anything like that before and it works really well.

Gifting Lounge Moroccan Tea Light Holder – £3 Lauren from Blonde Vision has recently opened an online shop called The Gifting Lounge and she kindly gave me this pink tea light holder from her shop for my birthday. I absolutely love the colour and I can see myself getting a lot of use out of it throughout autumn and winter – I always have candles going to make my room feel cosy! There are lots of colours available and they are only £3 each online.

Ohh Deer Notebook*– £4.95 Ohh Deer kindly provided one of these notebooks to every blogger at the Big Blogger Conference. I absolutely love the design, it is such a pretty marble effect and they were so popular at the event with everyone using them to take notes in from the workshops. I’m always writing notes and lists for everything so I know I’ll get a lot of use out of this – it’s so lightweight as well so perfect for carrying around in my hangbag.
