Illamasqua Blusher 'Naked Rose'

Illamasqua 'Naked Rose' - £21.50

Sorry for the serious lack of blog posts at the moment! I am struggling to juggle everything – a full-time job and house-hunting! Not really an excuse I know, so many wonderful bloggers have full-time jobs and balance everything – but it’s going to take a bit of practice I think for me.

Anyway, onto today’s post. I am talking about this Illamasqua blusher which I got as a present for Christmas this year. Up until now I have never owned anything from Illamasqua but have always wanted to as it is so highly rated. There are so many great reviews about their products from bloggers I love so I knew I had to get my hands on something soon and see for myself. One thing I really love about this brand is the packaging. I love the simple black design and the font of the writing – but it also has a lovely unique and quirky feel to it as well. The design of this blusher is gorgeous and it is very petite and not bulky at all – oversized packaging is something that often annoys me!

As for the colour, Illamasqua have a wide range of blushers available and it did take me awhile to choose which one to go for. Eventually I decided on ‘Naked Rose’ which is a neutral, beige pink shade. I did feel it looked particularly light when I saw it and did look past it at first, however after speaking to the lovely lady at the counter she explained it isn’t that light when on the skin. She was definitely right, when I swatched it, the colour I feel in love! I’m not one for bold, bright pink cheeks and this shade is just perfect to give yourself a lovely but subtle colour.

Naked Rose is a powder matte blusher, which is definitely my preferred option as it is very wearable during the day, good for contouring and it doesn’t highlight any pores – it is great for oily skin. The texture is so creamy and soft, it picks up really well on a brush and blends really well. The colour payoff is amazing, you literally only need a tiny bit on the brush to get great results. Bare that in mind as at first I made the mistake of covering the brush with product and ended up looking like a clown! I’ve been using this most days since I got it and have barely made a dent in it – it still looks brand new so I’m guessing it is going to last ages which is great.

After having a quick browse on the Illamasqua website, I noticed they say this blusher can provide up to five variations of the same shade depending on how lightly or intensely it is applied. It can also be used wet for a bolder colour pay-off –and can even double up as an eye shadow. This is great as it is so versatile, I find it perfect for everyday use but if I wanted to add more effect for an evening look it would definitely work!

Overall, I am really happy with this blush and I think it is really reasonably priced at£21.50. Illamasqua have so many shades of blushers which all look gorgeous so I can’t wait to get my hands on another one hopefully soon!

Have you tried this? What do you think? Are there any other Illamasqua blushers you recommend?
