Fake Bake 5 Minute Mousse

£19.99

Let me introduce you to my new favourite fake tan... Fake Bake 5 Minute Mousse. I bought this a couple of weeks ago when I had almost ran out of my current fake tan, and I always like to try out new ones. I was browsing Debenhams as they had 10% off tans and I wasn't really sure which one to choose at first. This particular one appealed to me as it it claims to give you a tanned look (without waiting for it to develop), completely dry in only five minutes and I was very intrigued to see if this actually works. I also like the fact it is a mousse, this is my favourite type of tan as I find it much easier to apply.

The first thing I noticed about this mousse is how quickly it comes out. I pressed the nozzle to release the mousse and it came flying out. So this is just a quick warning if you are thinking of trying this out, you only need a slight bit at a time! Despite this, once I worked out the best amount of pressure to use I realised how lovely the formula is. It is a really lightweight, smooth, fluffy mousse which is so easy to apply. It comes with a pair of black gloves to blend it in with as you can see below. These gloves are quite thick and much better quality than some other gloves I have used for fake tan and they are also great as you don't lose any product which can sometimes happen if you are using a mitt and it sinks in.

This tan has a speed-dry formula which definitely works, it drys super fast which is so great, I hate sitting and waiting for fake tan to dry! It claims to be the perfect 'party tan' and I can see why. If you are like me and like to apply a quick layer of fake tan before you leave the house for an evening out, this is exactly what you need. It is dry within minutes and from what I could see it didn't rub off onto my clothes. The only downside to how quickly it dries is that you really do need to be quick rubbing it in, otherwise there is a risk of streaks.

As for the colour, it provides what I would say is a medium shade and is very golden/ bronze. By this I mean is is a noticeable difference in skin colour, but not too dark, still fairly subtle and not orange at all which I have found some instant tans to be.  I am happy with the colour after one application but I'm sure it could be built up to provide a darker shade if needed.

One thing I really love about this tan is that as well as being instant, it continues to develop after applied, so after washing it off in the morning you are still left with a layer of colour. This is a win win for me!

Overall, I am really impressed with this tan and I am really happy I have discovered it, this is exactly why I love trying out new fake tans as there are so many good ones out there. It it slightly on the expensive side at £19.99, but you do get a lot of product and compared to some other brands I think its fairly reasonable.
Have you tried this tan? What do you think? Are there any others I should try next?
