MAC Cream Colour Base 'Hush'

MAC 'Hush' £15

Last time I visited MAC I was hoping to finally purchase the Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle, I have read so many good reviews about it for so long. Unfortunately this has been sold out in stores and online for a while now! So, I asked the lovely lady in MAC if she could recommend something similar to Soft and Gentle for me. She suggested ‘Hush’, this is a cream colour base not a powder so I was skeptical at first as I usually prefer a powder highlighter.

However, after she tried some on my cheekbones, I couldn’t believe how nice it looked! It has almost exactly the same effect as Soft and Gentle and a really gorgeous shine. You can see the effect below.

Cream colour bases are designed to be a multi- purpose product which can be used on eyes, lips or cheeks, so it is a really useful product to have. I currently use it as a highlighter on my cheekbones and a little bit down my nose, and I will be trying it next as an eye shadow base. It can be used under a foundation or over, depending on how dramatic you want the colour to look. I normally put it over my foundation which gives a really nice golden glow and light shimmer but doesn’t look too much or too overdone which I really like.

It is really creamy and easy to blend. I have been applying it with a small stippling brush but I have also used my fingers a few times which worked really well.

I really recommend this product if you are looking for a multi –purpose highlighter, and if you are a fan of Soft and Gentle you will definitely be a fan of this!

Has anyone else tried Hush? What do you think? Let me know :)

Recent clothing buys and a trip to Essex

Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend! For todays post I have decided to share with you what I have bought and what I have been up to during the last couple of weeks. As this is only my second blog post I thought this would be a good way to show you a bit of what my style is like.

Two weeks ago I finished my final year at university (scary!). Two of my friends from university and I took a trip to the home of TOWIE (Brentwood in Essex) to celebrate. We are all from different parts of the country so now that we no longer live together we are going to be arranging get togethers every few months and this was our first stop as we are all a little bit obsessed with TOWIE and used to watch it when we lived together!

Obviously the first thing to do was check out all the shops...

When I saw this t- shirt in Harry's World I could not resist, I love anything neon pink and I love the sunglasses detail and haven't seen anything like this before. I will be getting a lot of use out of this during summer! It was £20.

Next stop was Lucy's Boutique where I picked up this leopard print pink bikini, I couldn't say no as leopard print and pink are two of my favourite things and it was only £15!

We went in some of the other TOWIE shops but I didn't buy anything else. Below are a few other pictures from our weekend in Essex.
 Amy Child's Range Rover!

Saturday night in the famous Sugar Hut!

Some other items I have recently purchased include this gorgeous bikini from Matalan.
I love animal print so much so I had to buy this. The bottoms to this bikini were £5 and the top £6, such a good price.

I couldn't resist buying a dress to match, this will be perfect as a beach outfit on holiday. It was £5 from Matalan.

I also found these flip flops in Matalan to go with the outfit, which were £6. I love flip flops with a wedge as I am quite short and these look like they are going to be so comfy.

I recently purchased these gym vest tops from H&M. As summer is coming I have started going to the gym a lot more ready for when I go on holiday in July. I already have one of these in orange and it was such a good fit and good quality I had to get a couple more. I really recommend these for anyone else into the gym at the moment, they are £7.99 each and there are lots of colours to choose from.

Lastly, I couldn't resist a look in Primark as I was walking through town and I came across these white wedges. I have been looking for  something like this for awhile now and they will be perfect for everyday wear this summer, such a bargain at £10.

I'd love to hear any feedback on my second post :)

Models Own - Polish For Tans

I am going to start my blog by writing about my new favourite nail varnishes for summer – The Polish For Tans collection from Models Own. I have always loved Models Own nail varnishes and since following their Instagram account and entering a competition I was lucky enough to win my own Polish For Tans collection! As you can imagine I was over the moon, and when they arrived I couldn’t wait to try them.

There are five gorgeous colours and in the above picture of them going from left to right they are – ‘Beach Bag’, ‘Shades’, ‘Sun Hat’, ‘Flip Flop’ and ‘Bikini’.

These polishes have been designed specifically to enhance and compliment a tan, and this is certainly true! After applying some fake tan (hopefully a real tan soon!) and using these nail varnishes you can really see they go so well together. Such beautiful neon colours.

The quality of these is so good, I have had so many compliments since wearing them and someone even asked me if they were gel/ or shellac as they have such a nice shine to them.

Below are some pictures of me wearing the colours I have tried out so far. I haven’t tried ‘Flip Flop’ (the neon green) yet, not sure if I’m brave enough so might save this one for  when I'm on holiday. Check out my Instagram account for more pictures of my nail colours as I frequently post pictures.

                                                    'Beach Bag'

                                                           'Sun Hat' and 'Bikini'

Whats your favourite colour from this collection? Does anyone else think these are the best for summer this year? Leave a comment :)
